• To say that love is creative is not necessarily to claim supernatural power; it can mean making possibilities that were previously unavailable.

  사랑이 창조적이라고 말하는 것이 반드시 초자연적 능력을 주장하는 것은 아니다. 그것은 이전에는 가능하지 않았던 가능성을 만든다는 뜻일 수 있다.

• A metaphor may reveal something important about experience without becoming a literal description of how every mind or body works.

  은유는 모든 마음과 몸의 작동 원리를 문자 그대로 설명하지 않으면서도 경험의 중요한 면을 보여 줄 수 있다.

• When an old saying resembles a new insight, we should compare their meanings without assuming that resemblance proves a shared origin.

  옛말과 새로운 통찰이 닮았더라도 같은 기원이라고 단정하지 말고 의미를 비교해야 한다.

• The claim that gratitude may help us notice support is different from the claim that grateful people cannot feel grief or fear.

  문장이 인용문으로 제시된다면, 아름답다는 이유만으로 누가 말했는지나 인용 문구가 정확한지를 확인하지 않아도 되는 것은 아니다.
